Northern Europe
The countries along Northern Europe are known as Scandinavia. Large areas of Scandinavia are covered by forests and lakes. Bears and wolves used to have their homes in the forests. Reindeers can be seen in herds in the forests. Forest trees are also natural resources for houses, furniture and paper. Logs of trees are seen to be floating down rivers to sawmills. Along the coastline of Norway, there are over 150,000 islands. Deep inlets called 'fjords' are jagged along The Norwegian Coast. There is no darkness, even at night towards the far north in the summer. Seals are found in the Gulf of Bothnia. Finland has over 50,000 lakes and Sweden about 96,000 lakes.

Activities:
Fishing along the sea bed. Norwegians fish in the North Sea. Fishing boats has capacity to stay out at sea for months. Workers travel to oil rigs by helicopter. Oil are found under the sea bed, rigs are used to pump the oil up to the surface. These oils are used in automotive and by architects. Sking is very important, as growing children learn to walk, they learn to ski too along with walk.

Britain and Central Europe
16 different countries comprises central europe. Amongst tiniest is Luxembourg. France is large. Range of high mountains called Alps and are in Switzerland and Austria. Europe has most part of farming land. Ireland is knows as Emerald Isle for its green fields and hills. The tower of London is locker to the British Crown Jewels. Cheese made in France are famous for its 300 different kinds. Wines are made out of grapes grown in many countries including France and Germany. Britain is now an island and not a part of Europe. The Netherlands are covered with sea walls for sea can cause floods, windmills are used to pump the water away. Dutch grow flowers. Germany, France and Britain are making many things from cars to computers in their factories. Skiing is a prime sport. The coast of Rhine River in Germany enshrines castles from the fairy tales. The famous Eiffel Tower is in Paris, capital city of France.
Highest Mountain is Mont Blanc, France. 4,807m (15,771 ft).
Longest River is The Danube, 2,824 km (1,755 miles).
Biggest City is Paris, capital city of France with 9.6 million approx. inhabitants.
Winters are mild and summers are cool. Rains all the months and snows on high lands during winters.

Mediterranean Europe
Mediterranean has more tourists to visit. Mountains in Spain and Italy has high mountains where people visit for skiing in winter. Eagles, Vultures live in the Pyrenees. Bullfighting is popular in parts of Spain. Monkeys are found on the Rock of Gibraltar. Rich wine port are made here from Portuguese grapes. Water skiing and sailing are popular during holidays. The country around mediterranean sea are sunny all year, olives are grown in here. People in Venice travel around in boats since number of streets are canal. Goats and Sheep in the mountains are source for milk, cheese, wool, butter and meat. The know Leaning Tower of Pisa in Italy was built 600 years ago. Farmers are in numbers in southern Italy. The ruins of ancient Greek and Roman temples are places to visit. There are over 1400 Greek Islands in the Mediterranean Europe.
Highest Mountain is Mont Blanc, Alps on the Italy-France border, 4,807m (15,771 ft). Tagus River, 1,007km (626 miles) is the longest river. Summers are hot and winters mild. Madrid in Spain is the biggest city with 4 million approx inhabitants.
