![]() | Nov 17- ‘Solarimplse,’ a solar plane, dubbed a revolutionary project in the field of aviation, will have its first test flight April next year in Switzerland, The microlight-like plane is scheduled to take off for a round-the-world flight in May 2011. The pollution-free plane would fly with zero fuel on the strength of solar power both day and night, whose prototype was displayed here as part of the 60th ceremony of India-Switzerland Friendship Treaty. Phil said two aircraft with the investment of USD 100 million are being designed by a team of 60 engineers. Its commercial production is expected to start by 2011. There would be a world trip in five legs starting with crossing the US and the Atlantic. The single-pilot plane is based on innovative techniques in terms of aerodynamics, structure, construction methods and propulsion. The plane, according to him, aims to demonstrate the “immense potential” of renewable energy by flying day and night using no fuel and creating no pollution. The undersides of the wings are covered with flexible film and the upper surface with a skin of encapsulated solar cells. It has a 61 metre wingspan for improved aerodynamics. |

"The long foot prints we have been following. To me its all shadows around." | |
| Mail of the month: Dear Dwarf, We all here have caught up on the tragedy and the useless violence in Mumbai. We are all sad and feel a deep loss of life for the innocents who wanted nothing but freedom and safe passage through Mumbai. This was a shocking experience to the whole world. As I said in my other letter, nothing will ever be the same again. The loss of one life is a terrible tradegy in and of itself, but the results of this horror filled , senseless act, is painfilled and solves nothing, and gets nothing good to come of it, no one is proud of these men. I can't even call them men. We do not in this country, support this kind of violence or the treatment of other people as being legal. People that would attempt to act that way are immediately jailed and have a trial a fair trial. This is so appalling to us, the suffering and the heartbreak of so many people that was completely neeedless, that it is easy to see where hate can take the place of wanting to love and wanting to love in peace with everyone. We feel devastated that there was such a loss of life, to people who were not there to cause antagonism to anyone, it is hard to realize what the carnage and chaos was really like. I am sure if I were there watching and trying to help that I would feel so completely devastated and upset and there would be uch a vile contempt for whomever would do such a thing. These people are cowards, and have no dignity or courage to fight in this manner. We do not even call what they do as fighting, we call it ,terrorism. It is a way for cowards to hurt other people. It is a way for bad men to kill indescriminately, and hurt innocent people, men , women and children, take peoples lives away from them, maim them and if, they do survive they will never be the same again. The world is never the same again for the loss of one life due to terrorism. No one in the world is the same, and the world is not the same. A friend from USA. |
